photography for digipak

I have thought about planning my photography for my digipak and i have many ideas for what i want to do when i shoot my digipak. The photography for any digipak would differ depending on what the genre of the song is. For example, a country song would more likely be set in a field or the countryside compared to an electric/EDM where they would more likely be shot performing or a heavily edited photo of their face or band. I will design my digipak around my music genre (pop/electropop). I have looked at many other digipak designs and i believe that i can design my digipak around the design and layout of those digipaks. I believe i have enough knowledge and preparation to shoot for my digipak and i believe that i could create an effective and appealing digipak.

Font planning

I have found a few digital fonts that i believe could work on my digipak covers as well as my poster. This font will be used for the title of the album. All of these fonts share the urban theme, similar to my narrative and genre of the song and other in the album. I believe that the third font from the bottom could work as the back page of my digipak. This is because it is easy to read without being too urbanized and graffiti like so the audience will have no trouble reading through it. I will try choose and design a font that is easy to read but also has the urbanized and "street" and "urban" feel towards it. I will design all my fonts digitally as i do not have the skills to design them on drawing. I will draft a layout on paper and a brief design on computer. I will create a few drafts of my poster and my digipak as i will get feedback so i know what looks best.

Digipak planning

For my digipak I would like to end with an effective and successful one that links well with the narrative of my song and the other songs in that album. I have been looking at other digipaks for inspiration and ideas and I have drafted some ideas in my head already. I will shortly begin drafting out my plans. The original digipak for the song that I am doing is also what I plan to do, however I will not copy the design. I like the design of the digipak at the top. The font style and layout are both appealing and i will try to follow this type of layout and design. The font has an urban/street feel towards it due to the content of each song. I also plan to use an urbanized font in my digipak.

Day of filming

I completed my first section of filming yesterday, i believe that it went extremely well, however i did come across some challenges. I lost one of the bolts for my camera which brought upon a challenge as i could not get the angle of shot i was planning for as this bolt enabled me to get a better angle when filming. This was the main problem i faced when filming. It was also quite challenging as the weather was quite bad and i could not get to some of the locations that i planned. However i still found some alternative locations that i used instead of my planned ones. The footage i got was very good as i managed to get everything i planned to shoot. I will evaluate all my footage and arrange a re-shoot if needed. My actor was extremely helpful as she full-filled the roll very well with no trouble. I am feeling very optimistic approaching the editing stage of this project and i feel that my footage is very good and i believe i can succeed in this project.
